Course Aim

The course deals with current issues and addresses what corporate directors need to know when implementing and setting the health and safety policy within their respective organizations. It provides decision-makers within the organization with the necessary information to ensure compliance with health and safety law and good risk management principles

Who Should Attend

This course sets out the agenda for the effective leadership of health and safety. It is designed to encompass corporate responsibility so that company directors can ensure that a system of internal control has a key role in the management of risk that is significant to the fulfilment of its business objectives. Senior Managers are also eligible to attend.

Course Content

  • Be able to formulate an agenda within their respective organizations for effective leadership of health, safety and risk management
  • Have an understanding of how health and safety law is structured within the corporate environment of the boardroom
  • Identify the need for strong and active leadership from the top
  • Understand the benefits of good health safety and risk management
  • Be able to integrate health, safety and risk into the main governance structures of their respective organizations
  • Establish whether strong health, safety and risk principles have been embedded within the respective organizations
  • Be able to create a health check of the current status of your organization


The instructor will assess candidates understanding at the end of the session with a brief examination and practical test. A certificate of attendance will be issued.
