Course Aim

The purpose of this course is to give shopfitting and interior contracting delegates a complete understanding of both individual and organisational waste management responsibilities and enable them to contribute to the management of waste in a shopfitting and interior contracting project This will enable delegates to obtain an accredited understand of environmental based duties and responsibilities for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering this particular sector within the construction industry. Delegates will be able to review their current waste management practices and develop new approaches to reducing waste on site by the production of site specific management plans

Who Should Attend

This course is designed to reflect that different sectors present different environmental issues, so at some point in a person’s career they may need to refine their knowledge further within a specialist area

Course Content

  • Understand the unique problems associated with the identification and management of waste on a shopfitting and interior contracting project
  • Have an understanding of how environmental law is structured in this sector
  • Identify the need for and the benefits of managing an effective site waste management plan for controlling site waste effectively
  • Understand who is responsible for writing and implementing the Site Waste Management Plan
  • Identify key waste materials
  • Understand offences and penalties and offence associated with poor waste management practices
  • Identify opportunities to save with in the cycle of a shopfitting project


All attendees passing the course will receive a certificate.
